Public, Private, and Home Schooled Juniors and Seniors

Beginning with the Fall 2006 semester TSBC will be adding a
new grant to the Financial Aid services of the college. PSEOP stands for the
state of Ohio’s
Post-Secondary Enrollment
Options Program (a.k.a.
Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment) which will pay for the total cost of college
classes for Ohio high school students if they meet certain qualifications. The
college will be defining those qualifications this summer. Other colleges have
already signed up for this option and their qualifications include such ideas as
a GPA of 3.0 or higher for high school Juniors, a 2.7 GPA for high school
Seniors, an ACT score of 22 or higher or a combined SAT score of at least 1030,
and a passing status on the Ohio 9th grade Proficiency Test. We are
allowed to develop our own requirements, but most likely they will run in the
same vein. The college will allow these students to take only one class at a
time (up to 3 hrs/semester) unless the administration allows more on a
case-by-case basis. The funding for these classes comes from the school district
of the student’s residency. This grant covers all types of schools whether they
are public, proprietary, non-profit, for profit, private, charter, non-charter,
or home-schooled. Parents simply download the application from the website and
follow the procedures. Local Ohio high school students who want to attend TSBC
on campus can access this grant through

After additional core classes are offered online at TSBC the number of high school students
looking for a biblically based foundation in areas such as English, history,
math, and the sciences will increase greatly. Our focus will be the Ohio
home-school system. Other Ohio grants are coming in the fall of 2007. We’ll keep

Special Note from the FSA:
To enhance
the security of your U.S. Department of Education PIN and your personal
information on the Web, there are two significant changes to the PIN process of
which you should be aware.
If you
already have a PIN, the first time you attempt to use it on or after December
26, 2004, you will be prompted to agree to a PIN Terms and Conditions Activation
Agreement, which asks you not to share your PIN with anyone and to keep it in a
safe place, and to select and answer a challenge question. Only you will know
the answer to your challenge question, and it may be used to validate your
identity in the future.
If you apply
for a PIN on or after December 26, 2004, you will be required to agree to the
terms and conditions and provide a challenge question and response before your
PIN will be issued.
These
changes have been made to ensure the security of the PIN process and to remind
you of the importance of safeguarding your PIN. Your PIN serves as your
electronic signature and provides access to your personal records, and it is
critical that it remain as secure as possible.

FEDERAL GRANTS (Pell Grants)
This grant
program allows low to moderate-income students to attend college. There are a
few restrictions to stay eligible: 1) the student must keep a GPA of 2.00 and 2)
full-time students must finish their program in a 150% time limit. Most
colleges provide the free application (FAFSA), or you may go online and file
electronically at
www.fafsa.ed.gov. Hard copies are
available if you would like to visit our campus.
OHIO STATE GRANTS
1.
Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG) is
the replacement grant for OIG as it is begin phased out in the next two years.
OCOG is going to be much more generous and take into account both part-time and
full-time Ohio Students. Your eligibility is determined by the state of Ohio
financial aid department, and it gets its information about you when you fill
out the FAFSA. Maximum award for full-time students for TSBC is $4,992/year, and
for part-time students at TSBC the awards come in increments (depending on the
number of hours attempted by the student) of $3,744, $2,496, and $1,248/year.
The ceiling for income is $75,000.
2.
CHOICE Grants
can be given to anyone who is a full-time Ohio resident student, and it is
NOT needs-based. The state of Ohio has set the limit to $330/semester for
this award year. You must be enrolled in a B.A. program and maintain a 2.00 GPA.
The money is sent to the college and will be applied to your tuition/fees costs.
The Financial Aid Office will submit a list of qualifying students to the state.
There is no form or application to fill out.
INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Tri-State Bible College offers scholarships
each semester based on need. Applications are located in the Financial Aid
Office. A Scholarship Committee reviews all the applications and makes the
final awards. There is a $40,000 income limit to qualify.
TRI-STATE BIBLE COLLEGE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP
The Alumni Association awards one scholarship
each semester to the student with the greatest need. Applications are located
in the Financial Aid Office.
INCENTIVE PROGRAMS
1.
Pastoral
Incentive Plan
aids pastors and their immediate families in attaining professional training in
the areas of Bible and Theology at the college. The requirements include: 1)
the student must be a Senior Pastor 2) the discount applies to the first
32 credit hours only 3) the discount is 50% of the tuition only
(the discount does not include books or fees), and 4) this plan may be
coupled with any of the grants but not other scholarships.
2. Married Couples
Plan allows
the spouse of the full-time student to take a maximum of three credit hours each
semester, tuition free. The spouse is responsible for fees and books.
